Black Persephone Moire Handbag
Based on a 1940's pattern, this shapely handbag is made from silky moiré rayon. The depth of the moiré-pattern creates a smoky, mystical base for the Persephone crochet embellishment. Inspired by the myth of Persephone & Hades, first flowers & skulls were individually crocheted. Then the flowers are hand beaded to imitate the decadence of nature. The skull and flowers are carefully arranged and hand sewn together to create a harmonious arrangement. The combination of skulls and flowers signify the Persephone's dual role as goddess of spring and the queen of the underworld. Due to the hand-crafted techniques used to create each bag, no two are alike.
The bag measures 15"x15" with 2 inner pockets to hold cell phones or items like keys. This bag is also available in white.
